I’d be honoured to create a hand-drawn portrait from your favourite digital photo—of a person you love or a beloved pet. I work in graphite, coloured pencils, charcoal, and pastels, focusing on expression, likeness, and the small details that make each subject unique.

Sizes: popular formats include 8.5 x 11 in, 9 x 12 in, 11 x 17 in, 16 x 24 in (unframed size). I’ll advise on the best size for your photo.

How It Works

​​

1. Request a quote here — you will be asked for details such as preferred size, medium, etc. You will also be able to attach your photos.

2. Get a quote & timeline — I’ll confirm price and an estimated completion window.

3. Reserve your slot — a 30% deposit starts the project (I use PayPal).

4. Work in progress — I may share a low-resolution preview for one minor adjustment (e.g., small tonal/detail tweak).

5. Final approval & delivery — pay the balance; your portrait is carefully packed and shipped.

The Ideal Reference Photo

• Sharp focus (especially the eyes)

• Good natural light (no harsh flash; true colours)

• Clear view (face unobstructed; eyes visible)

• High resolution (original file, no screenshots)

 

For pets: get at eye level, look for a natural expression, and include a photo with a catchlight (sparkle) in the eyes.

 

For older photos: send the best you have plus any colour notes.

• Custom quotes based on size, medium, and complexity. Typical range: USD $100–$300 per portrait.

• What affects price: size, medium (graphite, coloured pencil, charcoal, pastels), number of subjects, background detail, and deadlines.

• Deposit: 30% (non-refundable once work begins) to reserve your slot.

• Balance: due at final approval before shipping/collection.

• Payments: via PayPal (major cards accepted).

Revisions

 

Your commission includes one minor revision at the preview stage (e.g., small tonal or detail adjustment). Changes that significantly alter the original brief (new photo, composition change, added subjects) may require a change fee or a new commission.

Shipping & Packaging

• All artwork is safely packed (protective cover, rigid backing, double-boxed when needed, etc.)

• Shipping options:

  • Local — secure packing + tracking via EMS.

  • International — secure packing + tracking via FedEx (liability subject to carrier terms); you are responsible for any customs duties/taxes.

 

Children’s Portraits & Consent

 

For this site, a child/minor is anyone under 18. Commissions involving a child must be placed by a parent or legal guardian. Reference photos are used only to create the artwork and manage the order.

 

Portfolio display of the finished artwork is optional—your choice. I never post original reference photos.

Portfolio Permission

I’d love to share finished pieces in my People/Pets galleries and on Instagram. This is completely optional.

• If you consent, I’ll display only the finished artwork (no personal data; first name/initials only).

• You can withdraw consent later by email and I’ll remove the image where reasonably possible.

How much does a portrait cost?

Most commissions land between USD $100–$300. Your final price depends on size, medium, number of subjects, and background/detail. Share your photo(s) and preferences, and I’ll send a firm quote.​

 

How long does it take?

Most portraits take 2–4 weeks depending on size/complexity and my current queue. I’ll confirm your window before we start. Rush may be possible (fee applies).

 

Can you combine multiple photos?

Sometimes. Please send the best images you have and I’ll advise what’s feasible.

 

Do colours look exactly like my screen?

Colours vary across screens and lighting. I work to achieve a natural, lifelike result in your chosen medium.

 

What if I change my mind?

After work begins, the deposit is non-refundable. After final approval, refunds aren’t available except for transit damage reported within 48 hours.

 

Do you ship internationally?

Yes—tracked shipping to most of the world. Duties/taxes are paid by the recipient.
